Young People: Statistics and Sticky Faith

Last year in North Georgia, the total number of people (members and non-members) involved in faith development classes is 142,386. Out of that number:
40,000 are children (0-11 yrs)
22,275 are youth (12-18 yrs)
11,157 are young adults (19-30 yrs)

See a trend? Why does the number get cut in half at each age category? It reflects this quote from Fuller Institute's Sticky Faith Launch Kit:
"40-50 percent of students from good youth groups and families will drift from God and the church after high school."

Pick half of your group right now. Are you willing to settle for them drifting away? Note that the statistic covers ACTIVE youth in your youth group.
