Susan G Landry

District Superintendent, South West
(770) 227-1074
Rev. Susan Landry brings 35+ years of experience in ministry in the United Methodist Church. She has appreciated her role as District Superintendent here in North Georgia, the first 3 years over the "LaGrange District", followed by the last 31/2 years over the South West District.

Susan is a native of Georgia, and began her leadership for the cause of Christ at the age of 17 as a youth minister and children’s choir director at Allen Memorial UMC in Oxford, GA, while attending Oxford College of Emory University. Susan followed her passion for people and for music in a psychology and music double major from Emory University. There, she received her call to pastoral ministry and continued her education at the Candler School of Theology, where she received her Master of Divinity in December, 1987.

Following a year’s residency at Grady Memorial Hospital, Susan began her appointive ministry in the North Georgia Conference in 1989 as an ordained deacon, then as an elder in 1991. She served as an Associate Pastor for the first 14 years of her ministry, and for the next 14 years as a Senior Pastor at 3 churches in the North Georgia Conference--including Dacula First UMC, Powder Springs First UMC, and Mt. Zion UMC in Marietta.

Susan has a passion for collaborative work and empowering laity and clergy to live into their gifts for growth and service as the Body of Christ.
Susan is married to Louis Landry, a native of Jennings, Louisiana and an Engineer with Ingersoll Rand, INC.

Together, Susan and Louis have 4 children and 3 grandchildren all living in Georgia, from Brookhaven to Savannah.
