Preparing for Special Session of the North Georgia Conference

11/17/2023

Members of the North Georgia Annual Conference are preparing to serve on Saturday, November 18, 2023, as the Annual Conference gathers for a Special Called Session. The sole purpose of the special session is to vote on the ratification of local church disaffiliation requests.

Bishop Dease has reminded us from the time she called this Special Session that the North Georgia Conference intends to move through this process with a gracious spirit.

Important information for members of the Special Session can be found at www.ngumc.org/SpecialSession. Please note:

  1. Unlike June, ours is not the only event happening in the Classic Center on Friday or on Saturday.
  2. On-site registration will be open in rooms Grand Hall 4 & 5 on Friday from 5 to 7 pm and Saturday beginning at 8 a.m.
  3. Please be in line for registration no later than 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
  4. The Trustees Report is available at www.ngumc.org/SpecialSession.
  5. The agenda is available at www.ngumc.org/SpecialSession.
  6. All who are able are encouraged to carpool. Parking is available to members of the Annual Conference in the Classic Center deck or the Clarke County Courthouse parking deck with printed parking pass from www.ngumc.org/SpecialSession.
  7. Most importantly, know that you have been prayed for and continue to be prayed for as hundreds of North Georgia United Methodists took part in 40 Days of Prayer & Fasting, hundreds took part in 24 Hours of Prayer last week, and United Methodists continue to pray faithfully in the hours, days, and months ahead.
