North Georgia Conference Wins Awards from Communicators Association

Booklets from the Walk In It Children's Retreat

The North Georgia Conference won multiple awards at the recent gathering of the United Methodist Association of Communicators in Portland, Ore., including Best in Class for Visual Design for original materials designed by staff member Ansley Brackin for the Conference's first children's retreat last fall. The feedback from judges was summed up with the line: "Extraordinarily well done."

"Monday Morning in North Georgia" was honored with a second place in the e-newsletter category with awards going to editors Anne Nelson and Sybil Davidson. A third place award was given to the Connectional Cafe booklet as a marketing piece. 

The Georgia United Methodist Foundation was awarded first place in the print newsletter category for "Faith and Money" and second place for web design for the Foundation's new website www.gumf.org. Communications Director is Diana Durie. 

UMAC is the professional association for those working and volunteering in United Methodist communications. The awards banquet is a highlight of the annual gathering and honors outstanding communication work across the denomination.
