LaGrange College Prepared to Welcome Birmingham-Southern Students

4/5/2024

From one United Methodist-related school to another, LaGrange College has extended an invitation to Birmingham-Southern College students to complete their degree through a generous transfer process.

Last month, Birmingham-Southern College made the difficult announcement that the school would close on May 31, 2024.

"We are deeply saddened by the closure of a fellow United Methodist-related institution," said LaGrange College President Susannah Baxter. "LaGrange College is rooted in the same Wesleyan heritage as Birmingham-Southern College. For BSC students seeking a similar faith-based environment, LaGrange College is prepared to welcome you."

For all BSC students, LaGrange College will

  • Accept all courses taken at BSC with at least a grade of C-, including those from institutions you may have attended prior to BSC that were accepted by BSC;
  • Honor your current academic standing, as defined by BSC; and
  • To the extent possible, ensure that you remain on your current timeline to graduation.
The website www.lagrange.edu/bsc offers transfer details, tour information, and an application. The invitation also includes access to financial aid.

"LaGrange College has a plan to guide you toward completion of the education you began at Birmingham-Southern College. Visit www.lagrange.edu/bsc and please let us know what questions you may have as you consider becoming a LaGrange Panther," shared LaGrange College on its website.
