Warm Farewells from the United Methodist Center

11/19/2023

North Georgia Conference staff are laity and clergy with a wide range of gifts, talents, and expertise — but one thing they have in common is a call to serve God and others through The United Methodist Church.

No two years see the same staff at the United Methodist Center. In this season, the North Georgia Conference bids a warm farewell to a few Conference staff.

Amy King has served on North Georgia Conference staff since November 2018, beginning as Benefits and Treasury Specialist and then transitioning to Conference Benefits Officer. In December, she will leave that role as she accepts a job serving as controller at another organization. In addition to serving so capably and effectively as our Conference Benefits Officer, Amy has been very involved as an active layperson and leader at Sandy Springs United Methodist Church and as a lay delegate to Annual Conference.

Next month, Susan Gunter, who serves as Administrative Assistant to Bishop Dease, will leave that role to join the staff of Roswell United Methodist Church. Susan has been in the position for two years, lending her gifts to the transition between episcopal leaders in that time.

Jessica Blackwood, who has served part-time on the Conference staff in the role of Digital Ministry Specialist and Community Pastor of The Harbor UMC online church, will depart from those positions. As a licensed local pastor and pastor's spouse, Jessica will lend her gifts to support Bremen First United Methodist Church and other area churches.

Additionally, Dede Reilly, who has served as a consultant guiding the NGUMC Children's Ministry Network, steps down from that role this month.

Best wishes for the continued ministry of each of these staff and consultants.
