Oversee church IT needs and spearhead innovative IT projects to equip Roswell UMC staff with the tools needed to serve the congregation well. Provide access to RUMC-relevant information to members and regular attenders via different venues as technology evolves. Provide support and technical leadership for RUMC database and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool. Continually evaluate and recommend technologies to support RUMC needs.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  1. Install, configure, and manage the IT network (wired and wireless) at RUMC, supporting changing staff and ministry needs.
  2. Provide staff support concerning operation, installation, and upgrades of desktop and laptop computer systems. This includes connectivity, configuration, and use at the operating system level.
  3. Support RUMC Office 365 administration, standardized software functionality, troubleshooting, and education along with installations and upgrades for RUMC desktop and laptop computers as well as tablets and phones.
  4. Monitor and maintain the church electronic security system.  This includes creating weekly schedules for door access. Database and Finance CRM (Church Relationship Management) support.
  5. Provide support for RUMC business and church management software. 
  6. Act as technical lead to installed software vendors. 
  7. Support RUMC’s event scheduling software.
  8. Act as technical lead and provide troubleshooting to the end-user. Computer hardware support and repair.
  9. Support all RUMC standardized computer and peripheral hardware devices. 
  10. Provide repair or setup vendor repair for equipment.
  11. Provide administrative and technical support for RUMC Internet and domains.   
  12. Technical lead and support for communications and telephone circuits.
  13. Provide first-level support for all RUMC campus data communications and telephone circuits.
  14. Administer upgrades and apply cost savings when available.  Contact appropriate vendors for troubleshooting and provide staff training resources for use of equipment.
  15. Evaluating ongoing staff needs, ordering and maintaining/upgrading computer, peripheral, and printer supplies.
  16. Technical contact for networked copiers and digital duplicator.
  17. Other projects as assigned.
