Full Time Preschool Director - Cumming First United Methodist Church

At Cumming First United Methodist Preschool (CFUMP), we are committed to creating a nurturing and enriching environment tailored to children ages one through six. Our philosophy is centered around holistic development, encompassing physical, mental, academic, social, and spiritual growth, all rooted in a robust Christian-based early childhood education curriculum. Since our establishment in 1972, CFUMP has earned a distinguished reputation within our community as a beacon of educational excellence. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Preschool Director to lead our award-winning preschool program of around 400 students and 50 faculty members. The Director will oversee all aspects of the program, including administration, curriculum development, staff management, parent communication, and church collaboration.
Responsibilities:
Administration:
- Maintain the program's purpose and procedures.
- Oversee, supervise, and direct all program aspects.
- Report major concerns to relevant stakeholders.
- Mandated reporting of suspected child abuse.
- Determine use of scholarship funds based on need.
Curriculum:
- Develop an effective, comprehensive curriculum for children ages one thru six.
- Oversee lesson plans and provide age-appropriate resources.
- Coordinate assessments and developmental screenings.
- Collaborate with the Music Teacher for Chapel programs and special events.
Staff Management:
- Interview and hire all staff.
- Conduct monthly staff meetings and provide ongoing support.
- Maintain staff files and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Mentor and evaluate staff members regularly.
Parent and Church Engagement:
- Maintain open communication with parents.
- Attend parent conferences and ensure parent emails are on file.
- Collaborate with church staff and ministries.
- Work that the preschool (staff, students, and parents) reflect the inclusive, loving, Christian spirit of the Church at all times.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or relevant field preferred.
- Multiple years of experience leading a similar program.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and church members.
- Commitment to upholding Christian values and principles of The United Methodist Church.
